The Line of Intervention provides support to regional and local institutions to strengthen administrative capacity in the Integrated Water Service (SII) field and urban wastewater treatment, with particular reference to territorial planning and to the procedural, technical, and financial interventions' management.
The Line's action develops three main activities, including a large number of events and outputs:
- Analysis and detection of administrative and technical inadequacies (60 Regional meetings)
- Identification and transfer of procedural models, useful for the proper application of legislation regarding the integrated water service, as well as the best technological solutions for purification plants adaptation and upgrading (1 national conference, 5 workshops, 45 coaching sessions, 1 technical document)
- Monitoring and reporting (15 meetings, 1 database)
Expected results:
- Governance strengthening for bodies and institution active in Integrated Water Service (SII) and urban wastewater treatment field, to ensure the resolution of SII management critical issues, and the obligations by Directive 91/271 / EEC, and among these:
the establishment of local government bodies for SII and Plans implementation; single-person assignment (manager) of the integrated water service;
implementation of actions in urban wastewater treatment context, in line with Directive 91/271 / EEC and with local planning tools;
cessation of extraordinary management, and consequent return to ordinary management run by local administrations.
